Bridlemile Annexation History
From the 1954-05-27 Oregon Journal:
Area Asks Annexation
Thirty-five property owners in the Bridlemile District today filed a petition with the city council asking to be annexed to the city of Portland.
The request will go before the council Wednesday and it is likely it will be scheduled for a public hearing July 6, when several other annexation petitions will be considered.
The Bridlemile petition covers a 5 ½-acre tract bounded by the city limits on the east, SW Bridlemile lane on the south, SW Jerald court and Jerald way on the north and a line running partly on SW 36th place and partly midway between 36th place and Jerald way on the west.
The petitioners claim the request is signed by all the property owners within the affected area.
